Oh how I loved working with these two gorgeous girls in planning their surprise gay wedding.
Summit Mt Coot-tha Wedding with Jamie
With Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants
It was an absolute privilege being the Celebrant for Maureen and David’s intimate and heartfelt Summit Mt Coot-tha wedding.
The happy couple married at Summit Restaurant on the top of Mt Coot-tha on a clear Summers day with sweeping views of Brisbane in the backdrop.
The happy couple enjoyed a first look photo shoot in the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens with their photographer Jonas Peterson where David walked up to Maureen and they locked eyes as bride and groom for the first time in this intimate setting.
First look shoots are increasingly popular with couples who love the idea of having their location photos take place earlier in the day, so once the ceremony concludes they aren’t separated from their guests and they can get straight in to the celebrations. It’s also great for the guests as it usually means a later ceremony that transitions straight in to the reception with no waiting in between.
The couple wrote thoughtful, heartfelt, emotional and meaningful vows to each other. There were tears, laughter and above all else they both glowed with love!
Congratulations to the happy newlyweds and thank you for choosing me for your Summit Mt Coot-tha wedding.

Colmslie Beach Reserve Wedding Photo Shoot
Inspired by the beauty of nature this Colmslie Beach Reserve wedding shoot fused a bohemian mix of botanical greenery, recycled wood and intricate lace with a love filled vibe. Set amongst two magnificent rows of Jacaranda trees in Brisbane at sunset.
Our bride was enhanced with softly glowing make up and waves by Shannon Hope Make Up Artist and sparkling jewellery by Redki. The glowing bride made her way down in the most stunning gown from the latest collection by Goddess by Nature. The breathtaking lace and tulle trains with beautiful lace trimmings played tribute to the brides femininity.
The aisle was beautifully decorated with stunning ghost chairs from Brisbane Wedding Decorators, and being clear they enhanced the greenery of the surrounding reserve. The ghost chairs were complimented with fresh floral arrangements by New England Flower Co.
The bride made her way up the aisle to her eagerly waiting groom at their the boho chic styled ceremony set up by Brisbane Wedding Decorators. Recycled timber doors created a simple chic backdrop, framed perfectly by botanical greenery and star jasmine plants.
Marriage Celebrant Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants was on hand to guide the couple through their ceremony and vows.
The groom was looking sharp in a custom made Wil Valor suit, crisp white shirt and a green tie, a colour palette that worked perfectly with the botanical greenery.
The natural beauty of the couple was magically captured by Twig and Fawn Photography.
Laser engraved stationary, menus and signage featuring rustic wooden materials, paired with olive leaf motif menus and welcome signs were beautifully designed and crafted by The Rustic At Heart.
Once they sealed the deal and enjoyed a glass of bubbles at their relaxed cocktail style reception setting.
The bride and groom then enjoyed a little time alone together to kick back, relax and take in all the magic together at a stunning picnic setting with champagne and nibbles. Precious time that we recommend every couple includes in their wedding day schedule as the day really will fly by so quickly so a little time out to relax, reflect and just be will be in the moment.
In appreciation of nature, nourishing organic seasonal canapés were provided by caterer Wholesomeness who are passionate about good, healthy, natural unprocessed foods.
Brisbane Wedding Decorators freshly sliced fruit garnished drinks dispensers perfectly complimented the canapés, and a greenery garland perfectly tied in the botanical theme on the serving table. As the saying goes every party needs a cake, so Cakes by Holly Eloise provided a sweet cake topped with a peachy floral arrangement by New England Flower Co.
Every drop and ray of sunlight was captured by Twig and Fawn Photography, highlighting the newlyweds feeling of playfulness as the sun began to set.

Orleigh park wedding with a dog ring bearer
Orleigh park wedding with a dog ring bearer
Needless to say dog loving Celebrant Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants loved being a part of this Orleigh Park wedding with the couples dog Diego playing the very important role of ring bearer for the happy couple.
Bride and Groom: Robyn and Tom
Wedding Ceremony Location: Orleigh Park, West End, Brisbane
Tell us about your ceremony:
We were at a complete loss when it came time to decide on a location for our wedding. While we really liked the greenery of the hinterland, we really wanted somewhere close to the city. Orleigh Park provided the perfect setting with massive trees framing the river setting and just 10 minutes from the city.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect and relaxed setting.
Reception Location:
South Brisbane Boat Club
Tell us about your reception:
It was really important for us to have the reception as close as possible to the ceremony. The boat hall was in a great location – right on the river and next to our wedding ceremony location, Orleigh Park.
The inside of the hall provided so much character and provided a lovely setting with the windows opened to make the most of the river views. The best thing about the hall is that we were able to do everything the way we wanted.
While it was a bit more work decorating and organising catering, alcohol and the rest, it was definitely worth it!
What we loved:
Neither of us are very traditional which can be a bit of an issue when organising a wedding. So when we started planning we decided not to do anything that made us uncomfortable (the first dance, bouquet throwing and garter toss all ended up getting scrapped).
We loved being able to surprise everyone by making our day uniquely ‘us’. It was great having a relaxed wedding where there was no pressure, instead the focus was on celebrating with family and friends.
Describe your experience with Jamie from Brisbane City Celebrants:
When it came to planning the ceremony, we really didn’t have a clue what we were meant to do. The only thing we were certain of is that we wanted it to be personalised and short. Jamie was great in helping two absolutely clueless (and slightly stressed) newbies create the perfect ceremony.
Being able to choose the wording we wanted along with the guidance of the ceremony run sheet made planning the ceremony far easier than we thought it would be.
Jamie, thank you for all your help in making our wedding day perfect. We were so pleased to be able to do everything our way and I can honestly say ours was the best wedding I have been to so far!
You really helped to take some of the stress out of the day, it was great knowing that everything was taken care of for the ceremony and all we had to do was show up – which was nerve-racking enough!
Tell us about any of your other wedding suppliers that you were impressed with:
Hair and make up – Locks and Lashes
Catering – Wine & Dine ‘m
Ceremony Chair Hire – Brisbane Wedding Decorators
Photography – Dreamlife Photo and Video
Your advice to bride and grooms to be:
Don’t let anyone pressure you in to doing what doesn’t feel right. It’s also very easy to keep pushing out the budget. We decided to make budgeting easier by spending the most money on things that would be seen in our wedding photos later on.
The rest of those smaller details (while nice) probably won’t be remembered by your guests when they go home.

A stunning summer garden wedding
A Stunning Summer Garden Wedding
Nessa and Tyrone wed in a heartfelt wedding ceremony at a private property in Indooroopilly. The property was styled with vibrant cheerful colours and large cushions which created the perfect vibe for relaxed and social celebrations.
As it was a hot summers day, the ceremony took place amongst the shade of a large mango tree, decorated with hanging glass bottles with brightly coloured flowers.
Two excited flower girls led the bride down the aisle to her beaming groom, where they held hands and locked eyes as their ceremony commenced.
Their garden ceremony was meaningful and heartfelt and the couple shared some of the funniest vows I’ve ever heard, before exchanging rings and sealing the deal with their first kiss as husband and wife.
“Thanks a mil Jamie for all you did to make our day perfect!’

After Carolyn Huygn Photography captured some great shots of the newlyweds around the property, the happy couple then joined their guests at a long table on the deck for delicious food, drinks and an evening of celebrating!

A Relaxed & Modern State Library of QLD Wedding
A Relaxed & Modern State Library of QLD Wedding
With Celebrant Cara Hodge of Brisbane City Celebrants
I just love it when couples do their wedding their way, for couples like Christine and Ed that meant putting tradition aside and creating a day that could enjoy every moment of together.
Their black tie wedding ceremony and reception took place at the grand State Library of QLD in South Brisbane. The couples modern wedding commenced with both the bride and groom welcoming the guests as they arrived, which really set the tone for the relaxed vibe.
The couple opted not to have a bridal party, and Christine decided not to have a wedding bouquet as she simply didn’t feel the need to have one. They did however have Francescas Flowers install a dramatic hanging Monstera cheese plant leaf display and the greenery worked perfectly with the high ceilings of the Terrace Room.
When the ceremony time arrived, the guests were seated and the bride and groom, holding hands took a relaxed stroll down the aisle together before turning to face each other as the ceremony commenced.
The lovely couple couldn’t take their eyes off each other as they enjoyed their short, sweet and authentic ceremony. They could barely contain their excitement when I pronounced them husband and wife!
The happy newlyweds kindly left a 5 star review on Brisbane City Celebrants Facebook Page stating “Thank you Cara for being our Celebrant, everything was wonderful!”

A Perfect Newstead Park Riverview Wedding
A Perfect Newstead Park Riverview Wedding
With Celebrant Jamie Eastgate of Brisbane City Celebrants
Hannah and Luke created the ultimate relaxed and enjoyable day for their Newstead Park Riverview wedding.
The couple thoughtfully arranged chilled drinks for guests to enjoy from the moment they arrived which was a huge hit and encouraged the mingling of guests while setting the perfect tone for their relaxed enjoyable wedding day.
Hannah and Luke had the dynamic duo from Lyndal Carmichael Photography capture their ‘location’ photos, before the ceremony took place, which meant they could stay and celebrate with their guests after the ceremony. The also meant they could both be there to greet guests as they arrived.
I was so pleased to receive the following 5 star review from the happy newlyweds:
The happy couple walked down the aisle together where they were joined by their bridal party for their happy, upbeat short and sweet ceremony. The happy couple didn’t stop smiling throughout the ceremony and neither did their guests!
