I was so excited when Mel and Steve asked me to be their Celebrant for their Brisbane Racing Club Wedding and I was so happy to see this 5 star review pop up just days after their wedding.

“Jamie did a fantastic job as the celebrant for our recent wedding. He has a very calming nature and great way with words to ensure we had the ceremony we had hoped for. Thanks Jamie for an excellent job!”

This grand venue is off the beaten track, but more importantly the guests knew they were backing a winning couple! (ok, we’ll quit horsing with the racing puns).

This Brisbane Golf Club wedding ceremony was such a special wedding to be the Celebrant for. The happy couple have so much love for their sweet little boy and it’s so easy to see why, not only is he the cutest little thing, but his excitement and energy on the day was through the roof.

I love how the beautiful bride had so much fun including him in the getting ready photos (playing peek-a boo beneath her gown) and how he enthusiastically sprinted down the aisle faster than his little legs could carry him with the ring cushion, thankfully those rings were firmly tied to the ring cushion.

RACV Royal Pines Resort Wedding With Jamie Eastgate

While most of the weddings I perform are in the Brisbane area, however from time to time Brisbane based couples invite me to officiate their wedding ceremonies at the Gold Coast, like this wedding at the RACV Royal Pines Resort which was captured by the lovely Prue Franzmann Photography.

The resort is just 12km from the Gold Coasts famous beaches and has its very own wedding chapel with stain glass windows and Italian marble flooring, it seats up to 100 guests. As you will see from these happy newlyweds photos the gardens offer endless photo opportunities so you don’t even need to leave the resort for your location photos.

We love that the happy couple invited their Grandmothers to be their official witnesses and join them in signing the marriage certificates, creating treasured memories. It was so sweet to see Grandma signing after the groom gently escorted her from and back to her seat.

Anne and Adem’s Stamford Plaza Brisbane elopement was such a special ceremony, they eloped in secret in the company of just a handful of close friends who were all involved in their intimate ceremony, from providing live ceremony music, shooting the wedding to being witnesses for the happy couple.

Wedding Ceremony Location: Northshore Harbour Cafe, Hamilton

Tell us about your ceremony: We had our ceremony placed under the trees on the grounds at Northshore facing the river. The weather was amazing and the sun had gone behind the trees so all the guests were in shade. We set up a laptop on Skype and called our family in the UK. Our ceremony with Brisbane City Celebrants Jamie Eastagte was very simple, classic and traditional. It was short and sweet and PERFECT!

Reception Location: The wedding reception was also held at Northshore Harbour Cafe in Hamilton.

Tell us about your reception:

The reception started with pre-dinner drinks and canapés looking over the river and gardens. We then had a quick sit down meal with quick speeches and then everyone was up for dancing! Everybody danced until our white glow stick exit, and we stayed right until the end!

What we loved:

The whole day was amazing. It was so great to be surrounded by our family and close friends. It made us feel so loved and we were so grateful for everybody’s generosity.

The weather was just perfect, as there was not a cloud in the sky!

We loved the food, cake, the music, the flowers, the dancing, the lolly buffet, our outfits, and the fact that we skyped our family in the UK that couldn’t make it!

Describe your experience with Jamie from Brisbane City Celebrants:

From our first meeting with Jamie he made everything seem so straightforward and he was so passionate about being a part of our special wedding at Northshore Harbour.

It was so refreshing to talk to Jamie as he was also so eager to help with any questions we had. Jamie was so prepared and sent through oodles of information to help us make our day about ‘us’.

We went with traditional vows, and it was a comfort to have Jamie standing there with us on the day to ease our nerves, and make sure the ceremony ran smoothly.

Tell us about any of your wedding suppliers that you were impressed with and why:

Photographer – Dear & Tine Photography; AMAZING! Chaddy was like part of the family on the day.

Florist – Brisbane Wedding Flowers; Cassie did the most beautiful job on both the bouquets and tables! It far exceeded my expectations. She was on my page from the first meeting.

Cakey Creations – Leanne did the most superb job on our cake pop cake!

Northshore Harbour Café; Bec and the staff – went over and above to make sure everything was perfect!

And of course, Jamie Eastgate from Brisbane City Celebrants.

Your advice to bride and grooms to be: Just relax and enjoy the day. Make sure you get everything done the day before so you and your families are relaxing and enjoying getting ready. Don’t stress about things that are out of your control. Enjoy the little moments and laugh.

Just remember that if something goes wrong the only person that will know is you – so forget it, it is out of your control and it will only upset you in the end!!!

Some of my Favourite Wedding Moments

I was so excited when the Polka Dot Bride wedding blog invited me to share some of my favourite wedding moments with their readers. With way too many amazing moments to realistically list, here are just some of my favourites, in no particular order

1. The first dance

I adore everything about this incredible shot captured by Milque Photography and Films of this very talented dancing duo.

From the perfect composition of this image with the ceiling drapes and opulent chandeliers framing the couple, to the guests cheering enthusiastically in the background.

I have no doubt a lot of planning and practice went in to pulling this dance move off and the happy couple are now rewarded with this very impressive image and wonderful memories.

2. The Hollywood style back bender first kiss

You really get a feeling of romance and a sense of the love this couple share in this image beautifully captured by Dreamlife Photos and Video. You can imagine the guests cheering enthusiastically and applauding as the groom Justin dips his beautiful bride Katie, and the bridesmaids squeal with happiness as they wave their bouquets in the air!

Jamie was the Celebrant for this couple and I love that he got well and truly out of shot (as every Celebrant should) for the photographers to capture this magical moment.

I also love the fresh greenery styled arch, designed by the bride who is a very talented florist.

3. Fresh Floral Arbour

I am absolutely besotted with this fresh floral arch by the talented creatives at Brisbane Wedding Decorators which was covered in beautiful fresh oversize Colombian roses and perfectly complements the brides white wedding theme. Image by Laura Slade Photography

4. OMG the wedding cake just toppled off the table!!!

Actually it was all part of the plan. My gorgeous couple, Gabbi and Dan love to laugh and have fun and they knew they wanted their wedding full of fun and laughter. Nothing stiff, boring or predictable.

Something about the traditional cutting of the cake just didn’t feel right to them, so together with their equally fun loving photographers from Naomi V Photography they came up with a plan to trick their guests in to thinking they knocked the cake off the table.

So they got a pretend polystyrene cake and had that iced so it looked like the real deal. As the cake cutting took place and the cake went flying off the table, the photographers captured the shocked look on the guests faces! Seeing Gabbi and Dan smirking then burst in to laughter raised suspicions and a guest ran up to the cake and confirmed they had all been tricked!

We love it when our couples do things their way, truly making their wedding their own and plus this made for a series of hilarious photos too.

5. Flower walls

Ooh look it’s me! It was such an amazing experience to be a guest of honour at the Karen Tran Gala dinner in Brisbane hosted by Event Planner Celebrations by Alysia. What you can see behind me here is a spectacular floor to ceiling water colour inspired flower wall, yes those are all real flowers! The fresh florals, the opulence, the decor, everything was simply breathtaking!
